Ek lees vanoggend op YouVersion se vers van die dag, Spreuke 16:24 in die Amplified Classic weergawe (AMPC):
Pleasant words are as a honeycomb, sweet to the mind and healing to the body.
Mag, soos jy hierdie jaar hierdie boodskappe lees, "soet vir die siel en ’n genesing vir die gebeente wees" (Afrikaanse 1933 vertaling).
Soos ek stil word een oggend in Januarie lees ek Efesiërs 1: 17 - 21 (AMPC):
17 [For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him,
en soos ek lees is ek dadelik nuuskierig want in die vakansie het ek Kolosense 3 "geëet" en vers 1 daar staan:Hoe werk dit? En hier kom die antwoord :-)
If then you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, thus sharing His resurrection from the dead], aim at and seek the [rich, eternal treasures] that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
Rich, eternal treasures en mysteries and secrets ....
18 By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones),
19 And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength,

Ek is soooo opgewonde want ek hoef niks te doen nie, net die pad saam met God hierdie jaar te stap en Hy gaan vir my wys wat is hierdie "rich, eternal treasures and mysteries and secrets". Dit herinner my aan Ps 119:105 wat sê:
"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path."
En soos ek verder begin krap in hierdie lig tema lees ek in Spreuke 6:23
"For the commandment is a lamp, and the whole teaching [of the law] is light, and reproofs of discipline are the way of life,"
Iemand verduidelik dit dat God se reëls daar is om ons te beskerm. Dis vir ons die lig. Is dit nie soms hoekom dit so donker om ons is nie? Juis omdat ons (ek hoor so baie keer hoe mense praat) mos Nuwe Testament gelowiges is ...
Psalm 19:8 sê: "The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure and bright, enlightening the eyes."
Hier is die enlightening the eyes weer! :-)
Psalm 32:8 sê God: "I [the Lord] will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you."
Wat 'n wonderlike belofte om hierdie jaar mee in te gaan?
- Ons stap nie alleen nie! God is elke oomblik, elke asemteug saam met ons. Sy oog is oor ons!
- Hy wil ons oë verlig met wie Hy is, sodat ons in die donker wêreld daar buite vir mense die waarheid van Wie HY IS, kan gaan leef.
En toe kom ons Sondag in die kerk en hier is die tema Kleur jou wêreld in met die kleur van God. Hoe lyk dit prekaties om sout en om lig vir die wêreld te wees? Mat 5: 14-17 AMPC
13 You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste (its strength, its quality), how can its saltness be restored? It is not good for anything any longer but to be thrown out and trodden underfoot by men.
14 You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.
15 Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a peck measure, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men that they may see your [z]moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and [aa]recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven.
17 Do not think that I have come to do away with or [ab]undo the Law or the Prophets; I have come not to do away with or undo but to complete and fulfill them.
